We returned home Monday night after a really great sailing/diving trip this year. I want to thank you for a wonderful diving experience for all of us, but especially for our kids. When I asked Patrick what the best part of the trip was, he said “getting SCUBA certified”. (I even have it on video.) That’s as good as I could have hoped for and I think all the credit goes to you. Thanks for a very good experience. Even though it was due to an error on our part, I’m glad we had to use your camera. It’s interesting how the red filter makes everything look so much better. Something else for me to look into for next year.

Just got back from the Bitter End (my 7th time there and I will do a separate review at some other point) and my 11 year old completed is PADI certification with the WONDERFUL team from Kilbride’s Sunchaser Scuba that’s at the resort. A year ago my older son did his resort course and two dives there and Ben and Kay were absoulutely fantastic. When my son initially balked on his first dive, Kay took over and coaxed him into it, showing an incredible amount of patience. Not only did he do that first dive, but he did a second. Then he did the PADI e-learning this spring then did both his pool and open water work with Ben and Kay. For two dives we had Ben and Kay and for the other two we had Shon.
I can not begin to tell you how impressed I was with Ben, Kay and Shon. They are consummate dive professionals with a real passion for their business. I completely trusted them with my son and they all made him very comfortable – a huge key for a new diver. I’ve been diving since 1987 (though had a few years off) and I am beyond thrilled that Ben, Kay and Shon have given me a lifelong dive partner. I totally plan on having my now 8 year old learn with them when he’s of age.
The dive sites are terrific, the equipment is excellent, the boats are wonderful and most importantly Ben, Kay and Shon made every single dive a complete pleasure. I would recommend them to any diver of any age and any level!

Ben and Kay are the best Dive Masters I’ve ever worked with. I’ve been diving in Mexico, Puerto Rico, FL, and other locations. I’ve never had the level of service that I received from Ben and Kay. Whether it was the preparation and review of my credentials, the initial boat orientation, the dive orientation, the dive itself, and the post dive review…they were fantastic. They were upbeat, enthusiastic, phenomenally helpful and supportive both on the boat and in the water. It was a pleasure. I’m really looking forward to diving with them again. Oh yeah–the places they took us to were great dives–carefully selected and very appropriate to the level of the group.

First, if you are looking for a beautiful place to dive, clear water, and amazing, untouched reefs, I think you’ll really enjoy Virgin Gorda, which is at the eastern edge of the BVI and is alone worth the trip.
Second, Sunchaser (dive instructors are Ben, Kay,; I’m copying them on this email!) was VERY professional, and for first-time divers, really put our minds at ease. As you may recall, Autumn (now my wife!) was pretty nervous about diving during the confined water course/classroom instruction in December. Ben and Kay thoroughly briefed us and the other divers, went over the equipment and had us set up our BCD and tanks, explained hand signals, and walked us through the plan for each dive as we hoped they would. They were very clear about safety, communication, and taking care of the beautiful sea life on the dive. The gear and the boat was all high quality, and they even de-fogged our goggles for us and helped us easily slip into our BCDs (as well as holding our masks/snorkels overnight for us!)!
Autumn and I were the only ones diving with Ben, so we did not feel like we’d be left behind or ignored at any point. He skillfully got us suited up, in the water safely, and comfortably diving in no time. We were quickly forgetting any nervousness and enjoying the beautiful chromis, balloon fish, yellow tail snapper, file fish, trigger fish, sergeant majors, parrot fish, angel fish, barracudas, southern stingrays, and hawksbill turtle (only a few feet away from us!), as well as the fire and brain coral, yellow tube and branching vase sponges!
We even had the pleasure of seeing Ben and Kay outside of the dive experience, having a drink and a nice chat with them at the Bitter End Yacht Club’s happy hour. These are fantastic people who, like you and the Atlantic Edge folks here in DC, really know how to instill a love of diving and a respect for marine life in new divers. Autumn went from being very reluctant to dive to certified and wanting to plan another dive trip (as I imagine happens with many people).
Bravo and many thanks to you (and your counterparts at Atlantic Edge) and to Sunchaser for really making our honeymoon a wonderful experience, in addition to giving us a new lifelong pursuit… Now to figure out how to afford more dive trips in beautiful places!

Diving: DO IT!! We did 3 2-tank dives with Kilbrides Sunchaser Scuba located at BEYC. Needless to say, we are spoiled for life. We dove the Chikuzan, the Wreck of the Rhone (amazing), the Invisibles (like being in an aquarium), the Chimney, etc. The dive staff, Ben and Kay, are world class and will make certain you have impressive dives.

The Chikuzen is an amzing dive. But I think what made it so great was the enthusiasm of our dive operators, Ben and Kay from Kilbride’s in Bitter End. They picked us up in Leverick Bay and took us out to the Chikuzen. Ben told us that we would see a vast amount of sea life but it exceeded our expectations. We had done two other dives with Ben and Kay prior, The Chimney and Wall to Wall. Both of those were also off the charts. If you are going to the BVI’s you need to dive with Kilbride’s and you MUST dive the Chikuzen. Prepare to come close enough to kiss some very large sea life.

Just wanted to tell you that my wife and I had a great time diving last week. We did the resort course with Ben and he was fantastic. We’ll be sure to call if we make it back to the BVI’s again while you’re both there. Thanks again.

My husband and I finished our scuba certification with Kay and Ben at Sunchaser Scuba in the BVI. The experience was fantastic. The dives were beautiful, and the staff was phenomenal. We had to practice putting our equipment together and taking it apart, but all the “certified” divers were completely pampered! I hope to go back and dive with them again very soon!
